Dominion Theology‘ is a fundamental, evangelical sect of Christianity that believes God gave Christians the dominion over the Earth, and all that lives on it. It’s based upon scripture from the Old Testament, primarily Genesis, and the book of revelations, and believers claim that they are commissioned by god to take over the world in the name of Christianity to hand it over to Jesus upon his second coming. This involves taking over the social and political structures of every country and only then can Jesus return to his kingdom on Earth. It’s primarily an American Christian ideology, (as if we’re surprised), and it explains their obsessions with Satan, as only after the Earth is rid of Satan’s influence can Christians retain dominion.

“And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” – Genesis 1:28

It’s a proposition of a theocratic state that’s risen out of Texas, and has struck fear into the hearts of both believers and non-believers, as they intend to remove any form of secularism, and the hard right factions wish to take back the government by force if needs be. Similar to Islam and Sharia Law, the Dominionists wish to rule by Biblical Law, with a government solely controlled by Christianity. Their intent is to put agents in every area of society to push forward their agenda, and eventually create a world wide theocratic state, or a Christian New World Order. Unlike conspiracy theories like the Illuminati etc, this is a movement that should be taken extremely serious, as they have genuine intent.

Government: “where evil is either restrained or endorsed”

Education: “where truths, or lies, about God and his creation are taught.”

Media: “where information is interpreted through the lens of good or evil”

Arts & Entertainment: “where values and virtue are celebrated or distorted”

Religion: “where people worship God in spirit and truth, or settle for a religious ritual”

Family: “where either a blessing or a curse is passed onto successive generations”

Business: “Where people build for the glory of God or the glory of man”

‘Seven Mountain dominionism‘ is described within the above quote from Patheos and shows the key areas where Dominionists seek control. So where does this put Islam, who also wish to have worldwide theocracy by adopting Sharia Law? Does this potentially mean we may see another Crusades? This ideology is getting significantly more influential in the Republican camps, where they wish to return America to its alleged Christian roots, and trample over democracy. They wish to replace, or at least add the Ten Commandments to the constitution with no regard for other faiths, or even other sects of Christianity. One of the worrying things here is Donald Trump has gained support from Dominionists, and close evangelical friends of Mike Pence clam that he’s in full support of this ideology. So if Trump was to be impeached, then this basis of thought could dramatically change the American government, and could potentially be dragged back to the Dark Ages when the church had absolute authority. It’s just another example of religious white supremacy wishing to take control of the land of the free and beyond.
